About Who's Round

What is Who's Round

Our service aims to do two things; connect you with local venues and improve the service you receive from them.

A quick search  in a given area should increase your awareness of different venues; not just that they exist, but also more about them; their menu, what it looks like inside and other customer experiences. When you visit, we hope to make the ordering process quicker and easier, allowing you to view menus and pay for items from your phone, all delivered directly to your table.

Who am I buying my round from?

You are buying it from the venue. Who’s Round simply takes your order and sends this electronically to the venue.

Additionally, if we process the payments, the payment goes directly to the venue (less our fees), so on your statement it will show as a payment to the venue not to Who’s Round.

Are the prices more expensive on Who’s Round?

We encourage venues to keep pricing fair and consistent but cannot insist that they do, that is entirely down to the discretion of the venue. In fairness to the venue, we do charge 1% of the order (excluding tips), and the cost of processing an online payment may or may not be more expensive than their existing costs.

Do I need an account

You can view the site without an account, and process orders for settlement directly as a guest. However, if you want to pay on your mobile device, you will need an account.

Do I get a receipt?

We will email you a copy of your order, if this is not sufficient please speak with the venue.

Can I make an advanced order

You can make a pre-order, however if you want this for a pre-booked table you will need to know the table number in advance from the venue. You can also pre-order for collection, if the venue is accepting takeaway orders.

Who to contact if there is a problem

As we just pass your order onto the venue, if there are any problems with that order at any time, please speak with them. Most likely you are in the venue so should be able to find someone to talk to, though you can also send messages on existing orders – go to My Profile, My Orders then select the order and toggle to messages.

How do I get a refund or raise a complaint

As you deal directly with the venue, any refund or complaints about service must be directed to the them. We are not able to issue any refunds as you do not pay us, you pay the venue, so we cannot approve payments out of their account.

Can amend an order

It is not possible at present to amend an order once it has been made, however if you go to the My Profile area of your account, then to My Orders you can select the order you wish to amend and send a message to the venue.

Your Account

Are my card details safe

Yes of course, though obviously of course we would say that!

To give you some reassurance, we don’t actually store your card details. We use an industry leading online payment processor, Stripe Inc, to process our payments. Stripe process billions of pounds worth of transactions per year and you have probably already had  payment processed by them without realising.

What you see when adding a card to your Who’s Round account is actually you telling Stripe your card details. Stripe then provide us with a token, like a unique code for your card, and each time we process a payment we use this token and Stripe take the payment. We also operate our site using HTTPS, the S part meaning secure (you should see a little padlock in the browser address to indicate this) and other industry standard security measures so your details are well secured.

What do you do with my details?

You can view our privacy policy, but in summary we don’t disclose any details that we don’t have to in order to operate the service, and we certainly don’t sell them. On placing an order, the venue should receive your name and the phone number you input at checkout.

We don’t share your email address and our terms make clear to the venue that they are not authorised to use or store any information they obtain.

The exception to the above is if you give details directly to the venue via our website or app. There is an area on the My Orders section where you can send messages to the venue, and the venue to you. If you provide information here, they will have access to this electronically. This is not something we planned, however given the current COVID-19 measures, venues may ask you to do this.

We do use other 3rd party services to run our services, such as Stripe for processing payments and One Signal for managing our notifications, these would both have access to some information, but this is unavoidable. They would not use this to market / spam you.

Fees and Payments

How much does Who's Round cost?

It will cost you nothing! We charge the venue a fee of 1% on any payment we process (excluding the value of any tips).

Will all tips go to staff?

Payments processed on Who’s Round all go directly to the venues account, so it is the responsibility of the venue to ensure staff get the tips. We try to do our bit though; our fee of 1% excludes the value of tips, so is based only on the value of the goods and any service charge.

What cards can I use?

You can use all major debit and credit cards

Can I split the bill and set up a tab?

At the moment no, but we hope to be able to do this in the future.

Can I use Apple or Google Pay

Not yet, but we hope to soon! Our payment processor though is Stripe, which is one of the largest online payment providers, and uses similar technology. Your card number is not stored by Who’s Round or on your device, we simply obtain a token / code to charge each time rather than use your card details.
